1: Hello Brandon.
2: Hello, [interviewer’s name].
1: I’ll be asking some questions, if that will be alright with you.
2: Go ahead then.
1: First question, what do you think about after escaping the fires inside the towers?
2: I think that even though the 9/11 attacks were horrible, it helped me realize that I am braver than I thought I was.
1: Second question, how did you decide to escape the tower as a whole rather than staying with your dad?
2: Well, when the first plane hit, I was stuck in the elevator. A hole appeared, so I decided to go through and escape. It would’ve taken more time to retrieve my dad, but I did either way.
1: Third question, how did you feel while inside the tower as the airplane slammed into it?
2: I felt panicked because I couldn’t see what was exactly happening; I was in the elevator at the time.
1: Fourth question, how would you.. describe what happened inside as you were leaving the center?
2: While leaving the tower I glanced and saw fires on different floors, many different rubble and torn pieces of wall..
1: Fifth question, what did you think was important enough to save first while inside the tower?
2:I thought that my dad was the most important thing to save first as I went outside, so I went back in and tried to find him.
1: Sixth question, did you find your father?
2: No, I never found my father and I later accepted that he was gone.
1: Okay.. Next question, do you feel more mentally mature after you escape the attacks?
2: Yes, I do feel more mature as I realized I was brave and survived without other family.
1: Eighth question, what do you see yourself doing in the future as a job?
2: I might join the military or something that serves my country.
1: Second to last question, what do you wish you did more of?
2: The thing I wish I had more time with is time with my dad, and he was my last relative that I knew of.
1: And finally, last question. Did your personality change after finally escaping?
2: Yes, my personality did change as I got braver and more helpful.
