7th Grade Reflection

An Amazing Experience

Reflecting on my seventh-grade year, I have accomplished many things in school that might have been impossible a few years ago without my friends. During 7th grade, I finally had a school place where I could fit in, with all my friends supporting me throughout the year. Middle school was a scary thing that I was entering, even in my seventh year. Although it was hard adjusting to the new schedule with now 4 more classes than 4 last year and work that had to be completed, I managed to get it over with day by day.

To begin with, encounters class was a struggle, I just couldn’t get comfortable with the environment, which had changed entirely from a small class to a huge cafeteria art room. However, with the help of my teacher, Mr.Skipper, I was able to settle in with my friends. The essays and projects sometimes stressed me out, but with my friends, I realized I would have to work hard from then on, especially if I wanted to keep my grades up. Although it may not have seemed so, there were many moments with the people I enjoyed spending time with that made school much more enjoyable in field trips like the ones in encounters class.

Academically, keeping my grades up was pretty hard, especially since I was starting a new year with new classes. Even though I stayed after school, I would be tired, hungry, and exhausted, and it wouldn’t matter as long as my grades went up. Every day, I tried hard to score an A in all my subjects as long as I understood. Middle school had kept me down for months, but as I got used to it, I started to adjust, just like I did in classes, which meant a lot to me. I decided that no one could keep me down, and all I needed was to stand tall without letting it get to me. In addition to grades, the band was one of the school places where I felt at home with my friends and teachers. My friends and I occasionally hung out while playing our instruments every morning, which made me very glad every day. Thanks to my band class, I always laughed and spent precious moments with my friends.

Looking back, I have realized how confident and strong I have become. I’m now more comfortable sharing my life with others than ever before. These past memorable months, I got to experience a 7th-grade school life; no matter how hard it could get, I would jump over these tall challenges that stood before me whether I had band, encounters, math, and reading, the times shared with different people will always stay as memories for the rest of my life. I have a lot of people I have to thank for these fantastic months that I have spent in school as a 7th grader.
