Iowa’s Computer Science Standards self-paced, online modules explore the CSTA Standards, their connection to the K12 Computer Science Framework, and their place in Iowa. The last module focuses on integration ideas and examples. Completing these modules builds teachers' understanding of the context and content of Iowa’s CS standards so they can implement them in their curriculum. Participants will complete the following four modules:
Computer Science #1: Understanding the What and Why of Computer Science
Computer Science #2: Understanding the K12 Computer Science Framework
Computer Science #3: Understanding Iowa's Computer Science Standards
Computer Science #4: Applying and Connecting the Computer Science Standards
For participating high school teachers, you are expected to:
complete the readiness scale for implementation prior to starting the AEA Online CS Standards Modules.
participate and complete the four modules that make up the AEA Online CS Standards Modules by June 10th, 2022.
provide the completion certificate & complete the readiness scale for implementation by June 10th, 2022.
attend a virtual, half-day CSTA Standards for Computer Science Teachers Workshop.
The $380 stipend will be paid only to teachers selected to represent districts participating in the 2022 AEA Statewide CSPDIF grant.
One license renewal credit is available for $125. The cost for credit is the responsibility of each person registering. Participants are NOT required to register for credit to receive the CSPDIF stipend. The $380 stipend is the only incentive that will be paid and the amount is the same regardless if you pay for credit or not.
We encourage all Iowa educators supporting district-wide computer science to take the AEA Online Self-Paced Computer Science Modules; however, the registration steps below are specifically for high school teachers that are receiving the AEA Statewide CSPDIF Stipend.

All coursework will need to be completed by June 10th, 2022 for stipends to be paid.
You will register for the CSPDIF (One license renewal credit) course. If you have trouble registering for the full course, please contact Michelle Meier.
Reminder: One license renewal credit is $125. The cost for credit is the responsibility of each person registering and will NOT be reimbursed by the grant and cannot be refunded through AEA Online. Participants are NOT required to register for credit to receive the stipend.
If taking the course for recertification credit, you will need to complete all of the course modules AND submit a final project.

Stipends will be dispersed to districts for payment. Coursework will need to be completed by June 10. Please note that you may receive your stipend from your district at a later time.
*Payments can not be made for coursework completed after the June 10 deadline.
