Site Characterization, Remedial Investigation, Remedial Design and Feasibility Studies

• Albany-Karner Road Site, Albany, NY. Characterization of phenol contaminated soil and removal of buried drums at a former waste disposal site.

• Trimmer Road Landfill, west of Rochester, NY. Characterization of a 40-acre industrial and municipal solid waste landfill using electromagnetic geophysical surveys to identify VOC groundwater contamination plumes.

• Tappan Terminal Site, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. Characterization of contamination from a petroleum bulk storage facility and a pigment and dye manufacturing operation under tidal influence from the Hudson River.

• Cuba Landfill Site, Cuba, Allegheny County, NY. Hydrogeologic investigation involving fractured bedrock underlying a municipal and industrial waste landfill with VOC and PCB contaminated groundwater.

• LaRussell’s Cleaners Site, Lake Carmel, NY. Remedial Investigation using portable GC/MS to characterize PCE contamination in groundwater and pumping tests to evaluate possible influences on drinking water supply wells near a dry cleaning facility.

• Buffalo Outer Harbor Site, Buffalo, NY. RI/FS of nitrobenzene contamination at a 125-acre Superfund site on the shore of Lake Erie.

• Utica Alloys Site, Utica, NY. Remedial Investigation and Feasibility Study conducted under consent order with NYSDEC for metals, PCBs and volatile organic compound contamination.

• American Voting Machine Site, Gowanda, NY. Remedial Investigation and Feasibility Study involving a TCE release to a private water supply aquifer.

• Bouchard Junk Yard, Columbia County, NY. Remedial Investigation and Feasibility Study involving an extensive evaluation of surface soils and near-surface soils using PCB field screening techniques to identify the nature and extent of disposal of PCB oils for dust and weed control at an automobile junk yard.

• Dewey Loeffel Site, Nassau, NY. Remedial Design Investigation involving a pumping test and groundwater chemistry evaluation at a former industrial waste disposal site containing PCBs, phenols, buried drums and other volatile organic contaminants.

• Iron Foundry, Syracuse, NY. Site investigation conducted under NYSDEC Order on Consent to characterize waste foundry sand and groundwater. Subsequent investigation also included waste water and storm water piping evaluations and negotiating conditions of a SPDES permit renewal. Contaminants of concern were phenol, metals, PAHs and PCBs.
