New York Power Authority Site, Long Island, NY. Groundwater flow modeling using Visual Modflow to optimize cooling water withdrawal locations and rates and warm water injection with attention to the effects of nitrogen loading.
Blydenburgh Landfill, Town of Islip, Long Island, NY. Groundwater modeling using Visual Modflow to determine contaminant fate and transport and feasibility of pump and treat remediation measures for leachate plume.
Tappan Terminal Site, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. Groundwater flow modeling using Visual Modflow to determine the location of groundwater extraction wells and a slurry wall to remediate chlorobenzene contaminated groundwater. Existing groundwater conditions were modeled taking into account the effects of the Hudson River including tidal influences on the site. Particle tracking was used to simulate the fate and transport of chlorobenzene. A groundwater barrier and extraction system were evaluated for effectiveness of contaminant capture.
