Movie Field Trip this Thursday, March 12th!
Maps in Social Studies
We have been learning all about Ontario and Canada in Social Studies. Students explored various maps including political maps, physical maps and road maps.
Some of the maps we looked at had a legend that gave us more information! This legend showed us average first snowfall dates in Canada.

Our Procedures!
Students were tasked to write a clear, detailed and simple to follow set of instructions for how to make a sandwich! First, students brainstormed orally with their small group. Then, they wrote down each step of the procedure. They were given Ms. Brooks' "go to" sandwich ingredients for the task. Our classroom was full of teamwork and collaboration, creativity and a whole lot of laughter! Take a peek to see how they did!

We know that strong writers will use a mix of short and simple sentences and long and complex sentences with lots of detail! We are practicing how to use the 5 W's to help us write complex sentences to use in our daily writing.
As a class, we studied the parts of a personal narrative before writing our own! We used highlighters to find the hook, transition words, punctuation, and capital letters at the beginning of our sentences and personal nouns.
From construction to unpacking and the final touches!
