February 27th, 2026

Notes for next week!

•  White Pine's speech contest is on Monday. A big congratulations to Jasmeet who will be moving on and representing our class! 

• Wednesday, March 5th is an outdoor primary play day. All grade 3s from our class with join the grade 1-3 classes outside for a fun day of activities. Please keep an eye on the weather and help your child dress accordingly. Grade 4s will remaining in our classroom with me. 

• Movie field trip permission forms and payment are due by Thursday, March 5th via School Cash Online. This is a quick turnaround because we have to update Cineplex with our popcorn orders per their deadline. We will need 1 parent volunteer with a valid police check to come with us. 

• Friday, March 6th is White Pine's first Business Fair! The grade 8s have been working hard to start up a business, create and market products (commercials to be viewed in our daily announcements next week), and prepare their products for sale next Friday. Students can purchase tickets ahead of time in our classroom on Friday for 50 cents each. The average cost of products is $1.50-$2.00. Please send small change. 

• We will have a unit test in math (graphing) on Friday. Review will be sent home with extra practice and preparation on Monday.

January 18th, 2026

The London Children's Museum to coming to visit our class for an in school field trip! They will be visiting on February 18th, and the cost is $5 per student (please pay via School Cash Online). We will be participating in their 'Fossilized Food Chains' program. 

January 17th, 2026

Our Longwoods field trip has been rescheduled after our surprise snow day! New permission forms will be sent home for signatures, and payment will roll over with no need for parents to make any changes. Our new date is February 26th, 2026.

After a very exciting Grand Opening assembly this afternoon, we are excited to share that White Pine is officially the home of the White Pine Wildcats!

White Pine's first Winter Clothing Drive is beginning soon! We are happy to accept the following items as donations between November 21st and November 28th.

• Coats

• Snow pants

• Boots

• Rain boots

• Splash pants

• Hats, mittens, gloves

• Sweaters, long sleeved shirts, pants

Families is need of any of the above items are invited to shop for free on December 3rd, 4th and 5th from 3:30-5:30 is the front foyer entrance.

Our 'Class Book of Fun Facts' has officially begun it's month long field trip to student's homes for you to enjoy! As a class, we have been learning all about nonfiction text features. Students were asked to self-select a nonfiction book that appeals to them and to share one fun fact that they learned as they read it. They have drawn an illistration to go along with their fun fact. 

Please enjoy the book for one night when your child brings it home. Each day, we are using a randomizer to determine who will take it home next.

October 27th, 2025

Halloween is on Friday and students are welcome to wear their costumes to school! We will enjoy watching the Kindergarten student's costume parade throughout the school and change back into our normal clothes (or black and orange!) at first break. Costumes will be packed away into backpacks to make sure they stay safe for trick-or-treating Friday night. Please make sure costumes are free of weapons, masks, and gore. 

As a class we will enjoy rotating through Halloween centers with the other grade 3 classes and watch a Halloween movie. You are welcome to send in Halloween treats, as long as all ingredient lists are included. We have 23 students in our class.

Our green folder planners have been sent home for the first time this year! We will write in them most days. Please check in with your child and encourage them to take responsibility for showing you their planner, asking for your initials in the box, and packing it back into their backpack for the next day. We have talked about how planners are a student's responsibility, not their adults!

Students are also welcome to bring in a toonie to show their support. 

White Pine has set a goal of $1000 to donate to cancer research!
