Park Walks

As part of the Grade 1 team’s Science & Technology Curriculum planning, we especially value outdoor education and the need for students to explore concepts in nature. Park Walks are an excellent way for our students to learn about seasonal changes, the needs of living beings, protecting the environment, and energy as they engage in planned activities with their classmates and same-grade peers.

Provided there are enough volunteers, Park Walks take place whether rain or shine (in serious weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances, volunteers will be notified of cancellations prior to). Students must be prepared for the weather; it is important for students to have sunscreen, hats, and active footwear in the warmer months, as well as coats, mittens, boots, and toques in the winter months.
