Clothing & Footwear

Clothing

Clothing should be comfortable for indoor and outdoor play, labelled, and easy to get on and do up independently. Dresses and skirts are great, but a pair of shorts underneath is a must. Some zippers and buttons can be difficult for little hands and children can get easily frustrated when in a hurry to go outside to play.

Students are strongly encouraged to keep a change of clothing at school. Accidents do happen and are not always bathroom related. If your child has this extra clothing (sent in a bag that we can hang up, please), it enables us to deal with these issues quickly.

Shoes

In our schedule, we have physical activity at least once every day, which may be inside or outside depending on the weather. This means that students will need proper footwear.

While we understand the convenience of ‘slip on’ shoes, for our movement games, they often become ‘slip-off’ shoes and are not safe.

Please ensure your child has one pair of proper running shoes (that they are able to secure independently) that will remain exclusively for indoor use. This will also help to keep our school clean for our busy custodians!
