LUCAS COMMENCEMENT

March 27   Graduation Information distributed to students

                     Guidance Counsellors to visit period 2 classes (students without Gr 12 class– March 28 @10:30 rm 108)

                     – students to ensure they are on the list – look on wall in guidance office
         – fill out commencement form posted in the ‘Class of 2024’ Google classroom

                     Up to date information will be available on the Lucas guidance homepage – click on grad cap

March 27 -        $50 Commencement fee

April 10           (covers the cost of cap/gown, 2 photos at ceremony, hall rental, 3 tickets per student)

·         Payable online through schoolcashonline.com or click the “Online Payments” link on the A.B. Lucas website (if you have turned 18 you need to make your own account)

·         Due April 10, 2024

·         Indicate number of tickets you are requesting (up to 3 guaranteed, can ask for more, but we can’t promise – ceremony will also be live-streamed)

·         Indicate gown size at time of online payment (need to know height of graduate)

ongoing             Grad photos – Every grad should get a photo for the composite (even if you don’t want to buy a package) booking.edgeimaging.ca  school code-ALO; They have already had sessions at Lucas - you can book at their studio if you missed photos here.

April 17     OSAP Presentation – auditorium at 8:45 am (parents welcome)

April 17     Valedictorian nomination forms available in the main office

April 30     Valedictorian nominations forms due in the main office by noon

                     Nominees meet with Mr. Bullas during period 5

May 14       Valedictorian slideshows due to Mr. Potter by noon

May 22       Grad Assembly - Period 2 - Important information memo discussed; valedictorian nominee presentations; valedictorian ballots, fill out profile cards (plans for next year), scholarship cards, vote and submit valedictorian ballots at the end of the assembly.

                     Tickets available for pick up in the library. Up to 3 reserved per student. Additional tickets can be requested. Available while supplies last.

May 24       Scholarship cards due in the main office

                     Scholarship card - information included in our commencement program regarding scholarships/bursaries you may have received. 

June 12     Commencement Rehearsal - Auditorium, 2nd half of period 2

All grads will be called down (approx. 10:25 am.); distribution of cap and gowns

June 14     Commencement Ceremony, Centennial Hall (live-streamed)

4:45 – Students arrive at Centennial Hall wearing caps and gowns, time for photos with family & friends at Victoria Park

5:15 – Doors open for parents

5:30 – Line up downstairs at Centennial Hall for procession

6:00 – Ceremony begins (approx 2 - 2.5 hours)

8:15 – Cupcakes and refreshments will be served in the lower hall after the ceremony
