Tips and Important points
Everyone should apply early and by June 30th for the following September school start
OSAP provides eligible Ontario students with financial aid to help pay for education-related costs such as tuition, books, living costs, and transportation. OSAP will NOT pay for all school expenses. You should consider part-time work, family, scholarships and awards to help with the enormous cost.
A separate OSAP application must be done for EACH school selected. Once you have selected and confirmed your school, you then need to cancel the other applications.
Make sure you "save & exit" often.
May is Money Month.... (16 weeks before the beginning of school) is the earliest when OSAP will look into your financial situation...how much money you have or assets you own.
You potentially can get OSAP even if you are going to school out of Canada as long as you are an Ontario resident
OSAP is the Ontario Student Assistance Program. It is a program run by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU).
If you have any questions about your OSAP application, contact the Financial Aid Office at the school you will be attending.
