OSAP - Ontario Student Assistance Program
Scholarships – are usually awarded based on merit
Grants & Bursaries – usually awarded based on financial need, academic achievement, athletic skill and sometimes special abilities
Criteria
Academics (marks) – top 6U/M, grade 12 average, or four year average
Extra-curricular (sports, school council, yearbook, clubs, peer mentors, etc.)
Community service (voluntary) – 40 hours is the minimum, most awards require much more
Special circumstances (income limits, overcoming challenges, etc)

Often entrance scholarships
Usually based on marks alone (80% or higher)
May be renewable
Application
1. Offered by a university
2. Business or employer, society, club, foundation, or individual (may be applied to any school)
Note: some applications require a Westminster nomination (limited # per school)
Student-athletes with an average of at least 80% are eligible to receive up to $4,500 in their first year at their university of choice.

Everyone of you going to University or College should apply to this regardless of how much money you or your parents make...because you need the OSAP number for other scholarships
