Dr. P-J's Virtual Classroom:

I teach the health curriculum as guided by the students interests and need. We blend curriculum concepts into science, math, language, and daily life. I ecourage all parents and students to read the actual curriculum here, I use my question box as a way for kids to ask whatever they need to know. When they ask where to find information, I post it here to continuously build their resource base.

Healthy Eating, Personal Safety, Substance Abuse, Addiciton & Behvaiours,

Phys Ed, Fitness, and Movement Competancies will be taught by Mr. Harris.

All students must be safe in our room, we means sometimes we need to actively choose langauge that is inclusive, rather than divisive. Students may believe whatever they choose, but they must learn to hold space for difference without making others feel unsafe. We follow the Human Rights Code in TVDSB.

In Ontario, the Education Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Ryan’s Law, and Sabrina’s Law collectively ensure that school boards provide a safe and productive learning and work environment for both students and employees.

In health education, the study of healthy relationships includes learning about the effects and the prevention of all types of violence and bullying/harassment, whether face-to-face or online. Learning focuses on the prevention of behaviours that reflect sexism, racism, classism, ableism, sizeism, heterosexism, and homophobia and transphobia. Instances of harassment, such as teasing related to weight, appearance, identity, or ability, need to be addressed and can be related directly to concepts that students are learning.
