AMM 3M1

AMM 4M1

The Music and Computers classes at Beal are a unique experience which will prepare students for further study at any post-secondary music production program. Created by Mr. Parr in 2011, these courses are designed specifically for our acoustically-treated recording studio.

AMM 3M1 delivers recording techniques that are essential to the home recording studio enthusiast. Units include the physics of sound, simple mixing strategies, MIDI, songwriting, microphones, compression, equilization and other effects. Students will explore the stages of music production (pre-production, recording, editing, mixing) by forming bands, learning a song, and recording in our studio. Students in this course are expected to have previously completed ANY one music credit.

AMM 4M1 is designed for students who have successfully completed AMM 3M1 and would like to further develop their music production techniques. In addition to completing two major recording projects, students will study the role of the music producer throughout history and careers in audio production.
