Rebecca Angles is the owner of Go the Distance and is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Originally from Bloomington-Normal, IL, she graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina Physical Therapy program in May of 2021. She specializes in treating musculoskeletal and neuromuscular pain in both children and adults, and especially loves working with adult and youth athletes.
Rebecca first became aware of physical therapy while playing high school soccer and competing in dance. Although very mediocre at both sports, she loved the team environment and began developing an affinity for working out (especially running, as that doesn’t require much skill). In college, she performed as an aerialist in the Illinois State University Gamma Phi Circus. Today she enjoys weightlifting and endurance sports, has run a marathon and a half-Ironman, and competed in two Strongman events. She is also active in the Charleston community and volunteers with Charleston County Rescue Squad.
Rebecca believes she has the greatest job in the world because she gets to help to fix injuries and disease with exercise and movement. She believes strongly in patient education and empowerment. She is excited to meet you and help you conquer your weaknesses!
The Go the Distance Experience
Go the Distance Physical Therapy is unique compared to traditional insurance based clinics. At Go the Distance, your treatment is dictated by you, the patient, rather than an insurance company. With our hybrid and virtual options, we are perfect for busy and active people who may not have to come to therapy 3x/week for 6 weeks. No being stuck on a bike for 20 min while your therapist finishes up two other patients. You get one on one attention from your therapist and you work as a team to develop the best treatment plan for you. No need to wait for a doctor's referral either-in the state of South Carolina, you can see a physical therapist up to 30 days without a doctor's referral. In the event you want your treatment to continue past 30 days, we will reach out to your primary care provider to get the necessary documentation.
