Getting to Know Mrs. Cole

Hi there! I'm Mrs. Cole and I am the School Counselor at Brecknock Elementary School. I am entering my 9th year as a School Counselor and my 9th year at Governor Mifflin School District! I graduated from Penn State University in 2015 with my B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Psychology. I then received my Master's of Education in K-12 School Counseling in 2017 from West Chester University. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor and also have my Specialist Certification in Trauma and Crisis. I was also named Berks County School Counselor of the Year for the 2022-2023 school year and  PA School Counselor of the Year in 2023.

Some of my favorite children's authors include Julia Cook, Trudy Ludwig, and Kevin Henkes. Outside of school, my favorite things to do are spend time with my partner and our dog, Nala. I enjoy gardening, yoga, reading, listening to music, puzzles, watching movies, and being in nature.  Not to mention I am a huge Harry Potter fan and plant lover! I will be out for a brief period this school year to welcome my first child, Baby Boy Cole!
