Sixth Grade

Learning about ourselves

At the beginning of each year the 6th graders take personality tests and analyze their results which is always so interesting! We're still building on the idea that students need to know their strengths and weaknesses in order to help them be more successful in school and life. Students also create inspirational posters highlighting their own personal mission statements for the school year.

Using Steam activities to engage our learning

STEAM practices can challenge us to look at different topics through different lenses. We will begin with a fall/Halloween inspired STEAM unit. Students will build interpersonal skills by working together in engineering practices among other group activities. In this unit will be utilizing a variety of our GT process skills such as divergent thinking, critical thinking, and building content knowledge.
