March 12: Arts in Sustainability

The aesthetic, creative, and social aspects of sustainability are often overlooked due to its uncertainties and unmeasurable values. But creativity plays a crucial role in driving change and bringing communities together. Arts, design, literature and music are often used to raise awareness of a certain issue and tackle topics that are important in our society. For preparation, we would like you to bring or share something that represent your perspective and interpretation of sustainability. It could be in a form of visual art, music, poetry, storytelling, really anything!

For the first part of the class, there will be a short presentation to introduce some artists who take sustainability and the natural world into account. Then we will have a little show and tell activity with the things we bring to class next week.
