[25pts] Give a two or three sentence description describing a nature based solution that would address (in part) each of these effects of climate change:
Climate change will bring increasingly extreme weather - resulting in more intense heat waves and more intense cold snaps. These are dangerous to human health and can threaten lives.
Climate change will bring increasingly extreme weather - resulting in bigger rainfalls and longer droughts. These will affect agriculture as well as flood-prone populated areas.
Climate change will result in larger storms with higher winds. How might we make forests more resilient?
Climate change may increase the frequency of larger hurricanes (cat 4 and cat). These hurricanes create winds and storm surges that damage coastal communities.
[25pts] Discuss 3 different examples of Nature Based Solutions that serve to sequester carbon in the Earth system. Provide details as to how this carbon is sequestered and the processes responsible.
[25pts] You are with a group of NE Indiana high school students and are tasked to explain the basics of the Greenhouse Effect and it's role in human-caused global warming over a series of 3 class sessions. Please provide a description of how you would work with them through this topic and what content would be crucial to help them master it. You can assume that the only prior knowledge they have is from what you taught them in 5th grade as you indicated in your answer during Exam 1. Assume some common misconceptions are still present. Include a discussion of the terms "Climate Change" and "Global Warming" as it is relevant to where they live here in NE Indiana.
