You are holding an event for business leaders, farmers, and politicians. For this questions you can choose a local region - choose whichever area you prefer. Your task is to lead a session on local climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies in your region. Your audience is going to have a range of beliefs and misconceptions surrounding climate change. What is some of your content? How do you approach this session to increase the odds of your audience being motivated to act? [20pts]
An 11th grader approaches you after you present a short introductory paleoclimate lesson as part of your climate residency. They tell you that they are feeling confused about climate change. They are interested in science and some of what you presented made a lot of sense to them but they would like you to provide more details on what paleoclimate approaches have to say about climate change and how we know we can trust paleoclimate proxies. They also vaguely mention that they hold family and religious "memberships" that seem to conflict with this "new-to-them" paleoclimate information. How do you approach this short "between classes" conversation with this student? [20pts]
