To support the school in this effort, regardless of the division in which you teach or work, please:
Ensure that you have informed the school if you do not have internet access in your home using this confidential form.
Begin to imagine, “how would I teach online if we had to close school tomorrow?” Remember to take advantage of the tools and routines you already have been using for online communication with students and families.
Take advantage of training opportunities to leverage the central tools that are available for teaching/learning in an online environment (MySA, Google Classroom, Google Hangouts, Screencasting, SeeSaw).
The week of March 16-20th will be entirely dedicated to supporting you in this planning and possible transition.
For links featuring virtual support on various platforms and best practices in online instruction, see this page.
For individualized one-on-one support, email Megan Whitacre, Shea Egger (South Campus), Julie Rust (North Campus), or Kate Dutro (South Campus).
We hope to facilitate faculty-led sharing opportunities through various vehicles (crowdsource doc, etc.).
Ensure you have a grasp on some basic tools and skills for teaching/learning online.
Ensure that you know how to scan and upload digital and paper documents to MySA or Google Classroom where they can be accessed by students and parents.
Ensure that you know how to create assignments and provide feedback in your central learning management platform (e.g. Google Classroom, MySA).
Explore the recommended tools to see what best fits your instructional needs and student levels and request/attend training as desired.
Ensure that student assignments are up to date on MySA grade-level pages, grade-level assignment calendars (e.g. our middle school uses a Google document for this), or Google Classroom.
Lower School: Individual assignments will be posted directly on the grade level pages for all subjects including co-curriculars. These assignments will be updated weekly.
Middle School: Assignments will be posted on the shared Google Sheets documents where they have been found all year. Those documents will be live and teachers will update them daily.
Upper School: Assignments will be posted on MySA or Google Classroom where they have been found all year.
Do a dry run with students to test your tools and strategies.
