Science 1 - Earth & Space Science Syllabus

Teacher: Phil Moorhouse (pmoorhouse@goddardusd.com)

Overview:

Science 1 will be based on a study of Earth and Space Science focused on the study of the physical setting of the earth and the universe. We will start our year investigating the universe and solar system. We will then move on to earth systems, including freshwater, weather, the oceans, rocks and minerals, the geologic history of earth and natural resources. As we go through the year we the overarching theme will be how to “think like a scientist” and how to use various scientific tools.

How can you succeed?

Cell phones are not to be used in class. They need to be put away and silenced during class time. If a student refuses to put their cell phone away they will receive discipline according to school policy.

* Students will receive projects over Winter and Spring Break which must be turned in when they return to school.
