Happier January
The start of a new day, new week or new month gives you an opportunity to make a choice to focus on happiness each day.
The start of a new year can be a time to reflect on your intentions for the months ahead and choose a focus that will bring happiness to yourself and others.
Each day on the calendar below shows a small step designed to cultivate positivity and well-being.
Embrace the power of gratitude, kindness, and self-care as you navigate the new year.
Let each day be an opportunity to find happiness in the present moment .
Think about making a small change that can become part of your daily routine and then become positive habits.
Here are some guidelines for creating a new habit:
Choose a goal~
Decide what you want to do differently
then do it for 3 weeks ~ 21 Straight Days.
After 3 weeks, that goal should become a habit.
Once you have created that habit, continue to do it for a total of 90 Days (3 Months) & then it becomes part of your lifestyle.
~Start with 3 weeks and then continue every day & you will create a habit~
Then after 3 months (90 days) you will have created a new lifestyle.
You can make new choices for yourself any day.
You don't need to wait for a special day to make a change.
The theme for this month is "Do Good December"- the idea is to carry out small acts of kindness- spreading joy and kindness by doing good in December.
Many people think that being generous means giving money to charity.
But there’s more to generosity than giving money.
Generosity also includes helping people by talking and giving support.
“Be generous with your time to help other people."
New Ways November
Discovering New Ways to do things, new ways to view life, new ways to learn –
Try something new
Be Curious
Learning something new, getting involved in a new activity, or approaching the world curiously is excellent for brain health and physical health.
People feel and express gratitude in multiple ways. It can be applied to:
the past (retrieving positive memories and being thankful for elements of childhood or past blessings),
the present (not taking good fortune for granted as it comes), and
the future (maintaining a hopeful and optimistic attitude).
Thankfulness vs Gratitude
"Thankfulness" is a feeling of appreciation, "gratitude" is more.
Gratitude includes the intentional act of recognizing and expressing appreciation for the good things in life.
This makes gratitude a more conscious choice~ to focus on and practice regularly; essentially, gratitude is the active practice of being thankful.
OPTIMISTIC OCTOBER
Small actions add up to big changes.
It can be hard to stay hopeful with all the challenges in our lives. We have a built-in 'negativity bias', but we can also train our brains to look for what is good.
Create a habit of taking small positive actions every day.
By adopting small practices every day, we can actually rewire our brains to have a more positive view of the world.
Being optimistic means having a positive outlook on life, both in good times and when we face difficulties and challenges. When we are optimistic we generally expect the future will turn out well and that we can achieve what we set out to do
Self Care September
This month is an opportunity to focus on taking care of your body and mind and creating a healthier lifestyle for yourself.
During this month devote time to activities that make you feel happier and healthier.
It’s important to note that self-care is not selfish; it’s necessary for well-being.
