Technology allows students to create original works in a variety of media. Whether it is creating audio, visual, or video products students' engagement and ownership of learning can be greatly increased through the use of digital tools.

  • All images, music, text, and other resources used must follow Fair Use Guidelines, and students must obtain permission if needed.
  • Model and teach Fair Use for all media and resources utilized.
  • Students should cite all resources used, even though they fall into Fair Use.
  • Share sources, such as Creative Commons, where students can find public domain media files.

Digital Citizenship

  • Model and teach students to use appropriate etiquette when collaborating digitally.
  • Establish norms for respectful language prior to online communication/collaboration.
  • Check that all students have an AUP on file allowing their work to be published online.
  • Establish norms for students to report unwanted or inappropriate communications.
