Why Eco-Friendly?

1. Carbon Emission Reduction Initiatives

A tree will be planted on the guest’s behalf when they avail of the featured Spiral offer conducted in partnership with Pur Project and Alter Trade. The enduring commitment of Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila to Planet 21 has enabled the planting of over 3,700 trees.

2. Carbon Offsetting

Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila is an active participant in the group’s Planet 21 initiative, a concrete 21-step action plan (which includes reducing water and energy use, protecting biodiversity, and expanding waste recycling) established for sustainable development in the hotel industry.

3. Eco-Friendly Initiatives

In 2015, Sofitel also launched a project encouraging guests to purchase specially made eco bags, with proceeds being donated to the initiative and a special tree-planting project.

4. Energy Efficiency

The hotel is also engineered with better energy-saving circuits, such as compact fluorescent bulbs.

5. Waste Reduction

Sofitel decided to turn discarded wine bottles into serving platters in Spiral’s buffet restaurant’s newly established cheese room.
