Gyeongsang National University Winter Camp 

Description
Gyeongsang National University in Jinju is currently seeking applicants for its bi-annual Intensive English Camp.  The camp runs for 13 days from July 28th to August 9th with a mandatory orientation day on July 27th.  Elementary students from around the Southern part of the peninsula will participate in a variety of English native speaker-led events as well as daily coursework and English situation role plays. The camp is designed to increase English-speaking confidence and motivation through active participation in creative, themed events. 

Candidate Qualifications
-Native English Speaker with a 4-year University degree

-All F visa holders are welcomed

-E-2 visa holders may be accepted with permission from their current employers and subsequent addition of employer from their local immigration office 

Working Conditions
a) Dates

-Mandatory Orientation on July 27th at 1 pm in our English Zone Office room 201 to prepare materials needed for camp classes and receive required training and instruction.

b) Teacher Responsibilities and Rules

-Teachers will be required to create some materials, like vocabulary quizzes and student feedback. Most materials are prepared in advance.

-Teachers will be paired with a part-time university student counselor. Teachers will be tasked with classroom and activity management during scheduled class times while their counselor counterpart will be responsible for student welfare while teachers are on break.

c) Schedule

-Daily meetings will begin at 8:30 am in the Teacher’s office to prepare/introduce daily schedules and requirements

-Approximately 8 classes will be offered daily for 40~50 minutes followed by a ten-minute break.

-There will be a 1-hour break for lunch and dinner respectively. 

-Classes will run from 9:00 am- 5:50 pm with a short period for journal writing from 7:00 pm-7:40 pm.

-Classes will run concurrently. We will work on the weekend.

d) Room and Board

-Teachers will be provided a dormitory room in our adjacent student dorms equipped with bedding, pillows, and required camp shirts to be worn during work hours.

-Teachers will have access to the conveniently located cafeteria for breakfast, lunch, and dinner service. (Available from July 28th breakfast)

-Successful applicants will have to bring their own personal laptop for teaching. GNU does not provide devices that teachers may find useful for projecting digital contents in class.

e) Compensation

-2.99 Million Won (before taxation) upon completion of contract

School of Language Education holds English language courses with varying objectives

● TESOL, TEFL, ESOL, CELTA, DELTA or other relevant licenses/certificates

● Renewable one-year contract
