Change your name in your Google Account
Your student name used in Google Classroom must be your real name. The account you use for our classes must be your actual name. Changing your name in your account will result in an F score. We will not be able to find you.
Watch this short video to see how to change your name.
You can also read Google's official Korean language instructions here or the English language instructions here.
*Note: If you do not want to use an existing account connected to your personal life we understand. You can use your @gnu.ac.kr University account with unlimited storage or just make a new free account just for school stuff. Let your teacher know if you join class with a new account or if you have any problems. We are happy to help!
First, visit the gnu webmail page here.
Then click 회원가입.
Now, follow the instructions on the page to make your email.
Here is an English translation if you need help.
Google Translate Extension
If you want help navigating the internet, you can install the Google Chrome Translate Extension. Google Classroom and all Google help websites have a Korean language option.

Mobile App
When using the mobile versions of Google there are a few differences and a few extra steps. Check the information below for more details.
Google Drive on Mobile
All of your assignments in the Google Classroom will be stored on Google Classroom.
You should download the app to manage file space. If you do not have enough space in your Google Drive your Google Classroom will not create your assignment files.
I recommend using your gnu student email (@gnu.ac.kr) to ensure you have lots of space.
Download the app here.
Google Docs, Slides and Sheets on Mobile
When using Google Docs, Slides or Sheets on your mobile, you need to download the app version of Google Drive and Docs, Slides or Sheers on to your phone. Then open the assignment in Google Classroom. Next, you must press the open in external app button. This will open the document in the relevant app on your mobile device and you can use all the text formatting you need.
Please watch the video for instructions.

After you type your comment, press the triangle-shaped send button.
Any comments left on Stream announcements is public. All of your classmates can see your comment.
Assignment Comments
When you open an assignment in Google Classroom you can leave a comment in two places.
You can leave a class comment or a private comment.
Class comments are public. All of your classmates can see your comment.
Private comments are secret. Only you and your teacher will see the message.
You can delete any comment you left by pressing the three dots beside your comment and pressing delete.
Note that your teacher can see deleted comments.
Using Google Calendar with Google Classroom
In the Google Classroom there is a calendar. The calendar will show all of the due dates for assignments.
Some of your teachers may also include make-up classes and other important dates.
Submitting Flipgrid Videos to Google Classroom
Flipgrid does not connect perfectly to Google Classroom. When you complete a video in Flipgrid, it does not automatically tell Google Classroom it is done.
You will need to press the "Mark as done" or "완료로 표시 " button to tell your teacher you have completed the assignment.
