I am a physical education specialist who has been teaching in HRCE since 2010. I live in Dartmouth with my husband, two daughters and twin boys. I grew up in Cole Harbour so I am very excited to be teaching in and around my community! I love playing all sports but my favorites are hockey and golf. The teams I like to cheer for are the local teams: Mooseheads, Thunderbirds, Hoopers, and Wanderers but also Jays, Pats, Pens and Raps.Â
My post secondary education started at Dalhousie University where I completed my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Biology. I then graduated with honours in the Physical Education program from University of Maine at Presque Isle. I attained my Masters in Coaching through Drake University, Masters in Physical Education from Memorial University and just completed my Certificate of Outdoor Education from St. FX. You can never stop learning :)
I am very excited to be a part of the Colonel John Stuart and Atlantic View staff and cannot wait to meet all of my students. I enjoy teaching new and exciting strategies, games, sports and activities that increase the importance of health and daily physical activity as well as self esteem, cooperation, problem solving skills, sportsmanship and learn resilience (to keep trying even when things seem tough)! My goal is to keep my students motivated and increase participation in the learning process so that each student achieves success!
Feel free to contact me at any time at the school or via email at mrobertson@gnspes.ca.
