You need to inform me if your co-op day or times change from your regular scheduled time so I can inform the office for attendance purposes
Check in with me every ________________ during regular scheduled class once placements begin.
Weekly reflections (on Co-op classroom) need to be submitted by the end of the check in class every week - these are getting marked for your final grade

Co-op is a great oppertunity for students to experience a worksite of interest where they will gain some hands-on learning and skills related to specific places of work. Students can walk out of placements with hours to go towards future apprenticeships, valuable skills for life and resume, a better understanding of what thye want to do after high school and sometimes even a part time or summer job.

Classroom teacher sets up the placement once the student provides areas of interest. Some students / families may arrange a verbal confirmation beforehand which is fine. However, the teacher still needs to follow up with the host.
Families are responsbile for transportation of student to and from placement
Students attend placement one day a week in place of school until they aquire 80 hours total
Insurance is provided through school insurance (SIP). Certain documents and assignments need to be met before insurance is provided for placements. This is all covered in class to students.
Orientation with hosts are completed with classroom teacher and student during school hours. This is when the forms are signed by host and teacher, workplace expectations are discussed and start date is confirmed. Students bring these forms home to be reviewed and signed by parent/guardian. Placements usually start the week after orientation. Signed forms need to be returned to the teacher before a student can start thier placement!
