Trip Information:

Information about class trips will be added to this section of the webpage as they are scheduled.

NSCC - Pictou Campus

• October 17th

• Tour of the campus and students receive code for free registration (we will provide time for students to do this in school, they need to select a first and second choice of program)

• Lunch will be at Wendy's / Tim Hortons

Shubenacaide Wildlife Park

• October 21st

• Careers at the Park

• Lunch will be at KFC / Tim Hortons

Discovery Centre

• October 29th

• Lunar Bot Workshop (coding) and Dome Viewing (Beyond the Solar System)

• BAGGED LUNCH - we will not be leaving for lunch on this trip so bring food

Toromont Cat

• November 3rd

• Tour of the facility

• Lunch will be at McDonalds / Tim Hortons

• Steel toed workboots required. I have some here for students who need a pair for the trip. Bring warm clothing as some of the tour is outside

FIRST AID TRAINING:

• November 13th:  Grade 10 O2 students

• November 14th: Grade 12 O2 students

  • This is an all day training out of my classroom (2305)

  • Students will receive a shortened lunch and will get a pizza lunch in support of this

  • Mandatory for all students

COVE:

• November 17th

• Covers careers in marine technology. 

• Tour includes a boatbuilders workshop

• Comfortable showes and jacket as we will be outside and walking around a lot.

Green Careers In clas presentation:

• November 18th - in class second period

• Interactive presentation with activity on Green Careers with a Net Zero House Design Challange  

Airport Tour:

• Novermber 21st

• Tour of the Airport with connections to various careers

• Lunch at A&W in Elmsdale

Army Reserves Presentation

• December 1st - in class presentation 

• Presentation on Careers in the Reserves

TestDrive In-Class Presentation

• December 2th

• 10:10 -11:10 (second period) in room 2305

• Presentation on summer co-op information

Irving Ship Yard:

• January 16th - rescheudled from snow cancellation

• Irving Ship Yard

• Tour of the ship yard and assemboly hall

• Lunch will be at McDonalds / Tim Hortons

• Warm clothing as the hall is cold

Aviation Presentation:

• February 11th, 2026

• Presntation on careers related to avaiation

Apprenticeship Presentation:

• February 11th, 2026

• Presentation on Apprentuceship process and trades related to this.

Trades Hall:

• March 3rd, 2026

• Speed workshops in various skilled trades with trades personal. 

• Lunch will be provided on site (pizza)

• Workboots

Skills In Class Presentation

• April 30, 2026 @ 10:10

• An in class presenation (during your second semester CBL class) 

• Presentation is around Skilled Trades and provided by Skills Nova Scotia
