Scholarships

Introduction

This site lists a number of awards and other types of financial assistance available to Island View High School students who are going on to post-secondary education.

Most universities have an entrance scholarship program; however it would be impossible to include all colleges and universities on this site. For any not listed you should ask the school counsellor or contact the institution directly. Many universities, including our local ones, list the available scholarships on their website or in a special brochure. If you call a university for more information just ask for the Awards Office.

Students should also check with their parent’s employers, unions, and service organizations as they might have other awards available. For further information on any award or program or for help in applying, please see the school counsellor.

This site is updated on a regular basis, but it is always possible that some items may have incomplete or outdated information.

Parents and students may wish to go online to research awards. You could go to any university/college website or search scholarship sites. Some examples are:

  COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF NOVA SCOTIA

DISABILITY AWARDS CANADA

NOVA SCOTIA SCHOLARSHIPS

SCHOLARSHIPSCANADA.COM

           SCHOLARTREE

  STUDENTAWARDS

    STUDENTSCHOLARSHIPS

Due to new scholarships being sent to the school every year, students should regularly check the scholarship board outside the guidance office, as well as the main page of the guidance website.
