When's the big day?
Innovation in Teaching Day 2018 will take place on Friday, November 2nd in the evening and Saturday, November 3 all day. Both days will begin in the Board Chambers (1st floor).
Where is this awesome PD taking place?
HRCE Central Office at 33 Spectacle Lake Drive in Dartmouth.
What time can I arrive on Saturday?
On Saturday, doors will open shortly after 8am.
Where can I park?
Though it's a Saturday, parking may be limited. Please consider carpooling as an option. You can park on the street or there are two parking lots (upper and lower) that can be used. Please do not park at the hotel or in the Doctors Nova Scotia parking lot.
Do I need to sign up for sessions in advance?
No - Sessions on Saturday are first come first serve - If a door is closed to a session that means the max has been reached. We have lots of variety and hope our room sizes will accommodate everyone who wants to participate.
What should I bring?
You will need a device for the day. If you do not have a personal device please consider asking your principal to borrow one from the school. We will have a limited supply of Chromebooks on hand to borrow for the day. Different sessions have different requirements - you may find it helpful to browse the session information pages to see if there's anything special your presenter may like you to bring.
What about food?
Friday night dinner and Saturday break and lunch will be provided. There are fillable water stations around the building and we will have Coffee and Tea at break in the morning.
