Every HRCE school has access to annual Health Promoting Schools (HPS) funding through an equitable allocation process across the region. Health Promoting Schools funding allocations are shared with schools to guide their planning. Schools will engage with partners across the school community in the planning, processes and actions to improve student health, well-being.
Schools should use their HPS funding to nurture and support student well-being, build connectedness within the school community and promote students’ sense of cultural safety and belonging. Schools can think strategically about how to spend the entire funding amount in a way that benefits the entire school community. There should be input from school community members and partners (e.g., students, school staff, parents, SACs, etc.).
School-based Health Promoting Schools funding allocations have gone out for the 2025/26.
*The Health Promoting Schools funding to schools' process has replaced previously offered school grants. If you would like to be engaged in your schools’ Health Promoting Schools funding planning and don’t know how, please contact us EMAIL.
