G.P. Vanier Awards for Musical Excellence will be given out each year in June.

Rookie of the Year (Rookie)
First time in band or on a particular instrument, someone who loves to play and is dedicated to their musicianship. (Peer nomintated)

Most Improved Player (MIP)
The musician who has improved the most during the school year. (Peer nomintated)

Outstanding Music Achievement (OMA)
The strongest, most consistent musician in the ensemble who also inspired others by example. (Peer nomintated)

Director's Award
The Director’s Award is one that is given solely at the music director’s discretion.  She looks for the student who stands out because of their love of music, they contribute to creating a positive culture in the ensemble through helpfulness, dedication, and overall enthusiasm for making music. 

Music Leadership Award
The Music Leadership Award is one that is given solely at the music director’s discretion.  She looks for the student who contributes positively toward the ensemble environment, musical achievement and has an inspiring effect on those around them through their actions, words, and positive example.  This award is not given every year, only in the years that there is a stand-out student.
