What is a transcript?
A transcript is an official record of courses a student has successfully completed at each grade level in high school and will only reflect the courses a student has received a passing grade in (50% and above). Official transcript reports are generated at the end of a student’s graduating school year, after a student has graduated or upon request. An In-Progress Transcript is typically prepared for post-secondary admission purposes while courses are still under way, or upon request.

Credit Checks
Credit checks will be done by the school counsellors in first and second semester to ensure that all grade 12 students meet the requirements to graduate.
If you are applying to an institution in Nova Scotia, this can all be done easily through the MyTranscripts website. This site allows the institutions where you’ve applied, to have access to your transcript automatically once you sign up
This service is completely FREE
You will need your 10 digit student number when applying for this
If you are applying to institutions outside of Nova Scotia, you will need to request your transcript through our Google Form and you will be responsible to mail it to the university or college yourself. Each transcript is sealed in an envelope and cannot be opened by the student. Opening the sealed envelope makes it “unofficial” and will likely not be accepted by the university or college
Sometimes universities or colleges will allow you to upload PDF (or electronic) versions of your transcripts. All you need to do is indicate that on the Transcript Form. The PDF will be emailed to you by Ms. Foley
Note: Applications to post-secondary institutions will be considered incomplete if they have not received an official transcript.

Your transcript will be produced the following business day for you to pick up (or will be emailed to you if you’ve requested that)
If applying to an Ontario University you will need to provide us with your OUAC number that you are given once you sign up on the OUAC.ca website. There is space on the Transcript Request Form for this number
This number is required to be on your transcript when we produce it, so that it can be matched to your application at the university level
What about final transcripts when you graduate?
Students are given copies of their transcript at graduation to forward to their intended post-secondary institution. As mentioned above, students who’ve signed up to use MyTranscripts will have their transcripts automatically sent to institutions inside Nova Scotia
Each graduate is given one sealed transcript with their diploma on graduation day. Any additional transcripts required will need to be ordered at least 2 days BEFORE the graduation ceremony to ensure they are completed on time for the last day of school
