IB requires that students complete 6 courses over two years. Three must be completed at the Higher Level (HL) and three at the Standard Level (SL).

Students also complete the Diploma Programme Core which consists of CAS, EE and ToK. These are explained in detail on the IB Core tab from the drop down menu.

Students must complete one course from each of 6 course groups with two exceptions. If the student wishes, he or she may choose to not take a Group 6 course and instead take a second course from group 3 or 4. If the student has a first language other than English, he or she may choose to take literature in that first language (called a self-study) instead of Group 2.
