Instructor: Ms. Jillian Ernest (CKRHS) jillian.ernest@gnspes.ca
When is this course taught? In AP English Literature and Composition 12, lessons will be provided weekly in an asynchronous format (September to mid-May). There will be self-directed reading and assignments related to the skills of the course. There will be one-on-one mandatory virtual meetings with the teacher following some summative assessments and timed writes each semester. Additionally, students can email to book a time for 'office hours' at their discretion throughout the course.
Suggested Prerequisites: It is suggested that students complete English 11 Advanced or English 11 Academic before taking the AP English Literature and Composition 12 course and receive at least a 90% in those courses (although not mandatory). Students are expected to actively and independently engage in a rigorous and extensive amount of reading.
Course Activities: Several times a year students will be required to have supervised testing at their school site, these are scheduled in advance and students are given the dates ahead of time. We will utilize both Google Classroom and the AP Classroom website to conduct our activities and lessons.
