Instructor: Mr. Paul Warren (NKEC) pwarren@gnspes.ca
When is this course taught? The course is designed for students to complete most of the coursework independently. Students complete two asynchronous lessons per week, each with a slideshow that includes audio and video notes created by the instructor. Weekly resources, including practice quizzes, condensed notes, and detailed answer keys, are provided to support student success. Students also receive printed course workbooks that include the paper resources needed to interact with the lessons. Scheduled office hours are available each week, giving students the option to meet with the instructor on Google Meet for live support.
Suggested prerequisites: Chemistry 11 is required before taking AP Chemistry. A Math 11 Academic or ADV course is also recommended because the first year university level chemistry content involves significant mathematical reasoning.
Lab experience: Students travel to Northeast Kings Education Centre twice for full day lab sessions. Lab dates are scheduled at the start of the course.
