Orientation: The library organizes an orientation for a fresh batch of students at the time of induction. They are given a PowerPoint Presentation explaining the various roles of the library, Library Initiatives for developing Reading Habits, Rules, Regulations, etc. so that all the resources are utilized to the optimum level.
After the presentation, the students are given a tour of the Library, showing them the Periodical Session, Reading Hall, and Books Stack Area.
Current Awareness Services: CAS is extensively for users. The new additions to the Library Resources are displayed on the Library Notice Board every month. The new arrivals are also communicated to all the faculty as well as the Users by email and Class Representatives WhatsApp group as well as the respective courses WhatsApp Groups.
Clipping Services: Content pages of Journals/ Magazines are maintained for reference to the users. Important News related to the AICTE, DTE, or any other governing bodies is also stored for future reference in our library database SLIM21. Articles from newspapers relating to the user’s curriculum are also maintained in SLIM21.
Inter-Library Loan: G. N. Khalsa College, established in 1937, have a rich collection of Library Resources. SGPC’s GNIMS Business School, SGPC’s Guru Nanak Institute of Management Studies Library, and G. N. Khalsa College Library work in collaboration with each other, so that, users can get optimum benefits. Resources are shared according to the needs and requirements of the user.
Renewal Facilities: Keeping in mind the busy schedule of students as well as Lifetime and Annual Members GNIMS Business School Library has started a new Innovative service for renewal – Users can reissue the library resources through various channels like -

4. Courier Service.
5. Themselves through SLIM 21.
Book Exhibition: Users are encouraged to recommend books during the Book Exhibition held on a frequent basis on the Library Premises. Besides this, they can also recommend books that are not available and can be purchased from the library. Users demand books that are also purchased in bulk.
Display of Subject Books: Every month books are exhibited to create awareness about the subject-related books and new addition to the subject.
Online Database: Users are encouraged to use Library Online Databases ProQuest, DELNET, NDLI, and e-Book Central in-campus and off-campus.
Organizational Membership: Institute has tied up with The American Information Resource Center (Dosti House, Mumbai) to share their resources for the benefit of the Users. Users are also invited for a special screening and other educational interactions.
We are Life Time Membership of BOSLA (Bombay Science Library Association), MANLIBNET (Management Libraries Network), and ILA (Indian Library Association).

Feedback / Suggestions: The digital medium of emails and WhatsApp groups have helped to receive feedback from the Users and Faculty easily, therefore implementation and incorporation of the suggestions make the library very User Friendly.
Professionalism: GNIMS Library Staff is always professional in their performance and maintains good relations with the Users. The library staff members are also trained in Soft Skills and made aware of the new innovations taking place in this field. GNIMS Library team performed good interpersonal relationships with Library users.
Team building, Interpersonal relationships, Communication, and Motivation Soft Skills are the foundations for better relationships. If Library professional is equipped with these soft skills, they can play an important role in the knowledge transfer process.

WhatsApp Group: The library extensively uses social media for improved communication and interaction and has created a Class Representative’s WhatsApp Group to post interesting information, news items, activities, and events conducted by the library. This is the reflection of the library's continuous engagement with its users as a valuable partner in their learning and research.
Biometric Attendance System: The Library has installed a Biometric System, which helps in keeping track of the users, who use the library facilities. Every month a report is generated through the Biometric Software.
Claim Services: The user can reserve a book by entering it into the claim register and when the book is available, the Library Staff informs the User and the book is issued to the User.
A reserved item is subject to recall once it has been issued for seven days i.e. it will not be re-issued to the current reader.
Reference Service: Hard copies of Question papers are available in the library. Users can take it when they require it. The Question Papers are also uploaded on the Library Website for easy reference.
Newsletter: GNIMS LIBRARY INSPIRATIONS E-NEWSLETTER-CONNECTING BOOK LOVERS is also published Monthly on the GNIMS Library Website.
Institute e-Newsletter - GNIMITES is also published by the GNIMS Team. Users can contribute small articles, any achievement received by them, any programs conducted by them, etc. to the library to be published in the Newsletter before the end of the month.
The activities of the Users as well as the Faculties, User participation in inter-collegiate events, Research Papers published or presented in conferences, and other events of the Institute are mentioned in the newsletter.
Top 10 Books, Top 10 Journals, and Top 15 Users: Every month a list of the top 10 books, journals, and users of the library is created and displayed on the Notice Board, uploaded on the Library Website as well as published in the Monthly Library Newsletter. This has a great impact on the Users and motivates the other non-users to start utilizing the library Resources.
