About Me

About Mrs. McNickle

My name is Mackenzie McNickle! This is my ninth year teaching, and my fourth year at Stephen Foster Elementary. I attended undergrad at the University of Florida, and have a master's degree in gifted education from the University of Georgia. I have been married to my husband Ryan for five years. He is a teacher at Buchholz High School. We live with our four cats.

For fun, I go on a walk almost every day. I also take ballet and jazz classes at Cameron Dancenter. My husband and I love to travel and go on cruises, and we are Disney annual passholders. In the past year, we have visited Chicago, Seattle, Washington, D.C., and New York City, and gone on cruises that took us to Mexico, the Bahamas, and Turks and Caicos!

For the past two summers, I worked as a research assistant in engineering labs at UF through their MRET (Multidisciplinary Research Experiences for Teachers) program.

I presented with a colleague at the National Science Teachers Association national conference in April 2019.

Presenting on best practices in STEM education at the Teachers are Heroes Conference, hosted by Alachua County Public Schools, in June 2019.

Presenting on math problem-based learning at the ElevatED Conference in Gainesville, FL in February 2018.
