Primary School Principal
With 20 years of experience in international teaching, I have enjoyed living and working in many different countries such as: Egypt, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and the Philippines. I love immersing myself in rich and unique cultures and constantly learning new things. This allows me to challenge myself to see the world through different lenses and perspectives.
I am married and have two grown children. My son is in the UK and my daughter will be off to university in a few months. I will be accompanied by my husband, my daughter and 2 cats.
In my free time, I enjoy travelling, reading and engaging in artistic activities. I love learning new things. I am also a Reiki master which helps me to be calm and composed in difficult situations.
I look forward to working with you all and serving the broader Global Jaya community.
Primary Classroom Teacher
Hello everyone, my name is Casey James. I am originally from Canada living near Vancouver. I am the new Year 6 teacher at Global Jaya School and am really looking forward to it. I am arriving from an IB school in the United Arab Emirates with six years of PYP experience. This is my thirteenth year of teaching. I have just embarked on a Master's course in Language Acquisition this year. Moving to Indonesia and GJS is an exciting new adventure. Some of my passions and hobbies include outdoor activities/sports such as hiking, swimming/scuba diving, soccer, and mountain biking. Travelling the globe is also a hobby I really enjoy; Indonesia will be the 50th country visited. I am really looking forward to joining a new team/community and the amazing experiences ahead!
Secondary English & CL
Hello, my name is Nick Gipe, and I'll be teaching MYP and DP English at Global Jaya. I'm originally from and grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in the USA, where we experience temperatures ranging from 40 degrees Celsius in the summer to -40C in the winter.
I studied English literature and English education at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, but soon moved abroad to teach. I've been living outside the US since 2006. I first lived in Seoul, Korea for about six and half years, then Chiang Mai, Thailand for six more years, and most recently Cairo, Egypt for two years.
In my free time I enjoy traveling, reading, playing board games, watching movies and TV, and scuba diving. I'm really excited to be in Indonesia and here at Global Jaya and looking forward to a great time both in and outside of school.
