"The reuse, reduction, and recycling of waste products have always been interesting topics to discuss and explore. Our kindergarten kids are no less enthusiastic about upholding the importance of recycling.
Our kindergarten students had a parade on 24th May, Friday within the school as part of our Recycling Right Outreach Programme. The purpose of the parade was to raise awareness about Tetra pack recycling and promote environmental stewardship among our students. This initiative aims to instil environmental consciousness in our students from a young age and promote sustainable practices within our school community."

For the year 2024, our GMP team of teachers and students have registered for the Little Green Dots (LGD) Carton Recycling Achiever Award (Preschool Category) which is organised by Tetra Pak and supported by the National Environment Agency (NEA) and in collaboration with Green Sproutz SG. In order for the GMP team to collect as many used beverage cartons (UBCs), they have extended the reach to every GIIS EC family and have asked them to bring tetrapaks from home. An email was sent to parents, teachers and staff today.
Used beverage cartons (UBCs) could be of any size/product. There are a few steps involved before children can bring them to school. After the drink is consumed :
• Step 1 : - Rinse - Cut open, rinse thoroughly and dry
• Step 2 : - Flip - Open the top side folding
• Step 3 : - Flap - Open the bottom folding
• Step 4 : - Flatten - Flatten the carton

Earlier today, our students of Kindergarten 1 and 2 classes attended the Little Green Dot workshop following our school's registration for the Carton Recycling Achiever Award (Preschool Category). The session was conducted by our LGD workshop volunteers, Saanvi and Krithick of IB PYP 5. After the session, the children dropped their flattened UBCs in the correct bin.
