E-waste, or electronic waste, refers to discarded or obsolete electronic devices, appliances, and equipment. This includes:
Computers, laptops, and mobile phones
Televisions, refrigerators, and air conditioners
Printers, scanners, and fax machines
Batteries, cables, and other electronic components
E-waste is a growing concern worldwide due to its rapid accumulation and potential environmental and health impacts. The improper disposal of e-waste can lead to toxic chemical contamination (e.g., lead, mercury, cadmium); pollution of soil, water, and air; health risks to humans and wildlife; and oss of valuable resources (e.g., copper, gold, silver).
Responsible e-waste management in our school involves:
- Recycling and refurbishment
- Safe disposal and destruction
