An apprenticeship is a job, and an apprentice will be employed from day one. Apprenticeships combine practical training in a job with study. An apprentice will work alongside experienced staff, gain job-specific skills, earn a wage and be given time for study related to their role.
There are four different levels of apprenticeship:
Intermediate/Level 2 - equivalent to five good GCSE passes.
Advanced/Level 3 - equivalent to two A-level passes.
Higher/Level 4, 5, 6 - equivalent to the first stages of higher education, such as a foundation degree.
Degree/Level 6-7 - comparable to a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
Having the necessary English and Maths skills in the workplace is important, and you will be expected to achieve certain levels to successfully complete your apprenticeship.

Transferable skills can be applied in any industry, in almost any job role, and transferred between the many jobs that young people today are likely to have throughout their working lives. New jobs will also emerge over the coming years as evolving technology and consumer requirements change in all aspects of the workplace.
It is important to recognise and develop transferable skills as they will continue to serve you in future roles which may not yet exist. You are already building your skills in subject lessons. Here are some of the main skills employers look for:
Teamwork – Work well together to help one another. Share information and ideas.
Numeracy – Make calculations.
Initiative – Do what needs to be done without being asked.
Creativity – Use your ideas and originality to find a solution.
Self-management – Plan what you need to do and set goals. Finish tasks on time.
Communication – Listening, reading, and speaking to share ideas and information. Resilience – Succeed in your tasks by sticking to your purpose and goals.
Problem-solving – Find and analyse the facts. Decide together the best solution.
To summarise transferable skills are skills and abilities that are relevant and helpful across different areas of life: socially, professionally and at school.

Wealth management refers to the management of accounts, portfolios, investments, tax obligations, estates, and much more. A wealth manager is a qualified financial expert who gives tailored advice to help manage your money. Many financial advisers specialise in wealth management.
Many people are unsure of what they need and seek advice on matters such as selecting a mortgage, investing money, life insurance, taking out a personal pension etc. Financial advisers - who, depending on the nature of their work, may also be known as financial planners or wealth managers - provide such advice.
