PICKING YOUR INSTRUMENT 

Please remember that a band is a gigantic team that has to work together to accomplish a common goal.  similar to sports you can't have 11 quarterbacks, liberos or goalies on the field at the same time.  We can't have 40 saxophones and no clarinets.  All instruments are fun and take a similar amount of work to get good at and have their own personalities, strengths and weaknesses.  The band will be at its best when we have the right instrumentation. This is why we ask that you place your top three picks, just in case some of the others are already taken.  Don't feel bad if you and your best friend don't get to play the same instrument.  In 7th grade all band members are in the same classroom and so it won't be long before you get to see your best friend again. Since we meet 5 days a week, you will have plenty of time to catch up on everything you missed back in 6th grade.
