Below you will find tech tutorials on many of the apps highlighted by the staff that helped lead educators to their best practices. Use the link on the left to watch a video tutorial about the topic. Each video will also have a short description of some of the advantages to learning and using the app/technology. As always, reach out to the tech staff for extra help on any app using the Form on the final tab of this website!

Sharing and Collaborating on Padlet

To the left is a guide to sharing and collaborating with students and colleagues using the remake, copy post, comment and react features of Padlet. Teachers can use this as an example of a 'best practice' on this feature, and a practice that will translate to their live classroom of the future. Find more best practices here.

Embedding Padlet to Sites

To the right is a quick video on how to easily embed a Padlet on your teacher webpage. Placing a Padlet on a Site allows for easier access by both frequent student participants as well as interested parents.

Screencasting

Tutorial- Screencasting

Use the Slides to left for an overview on how to screencast and an embedded video tutorial on using Screencastify.

Screencastify allows teachers to record, edit, and share videos while teaching a lesson on your screen.

Consider moving the Slides to your Drive for easy access. Fullscreen the Slides for enhanced presentation viewing.

The video to the right demonstrates an effective way of using Screencastify for Back-to-School Night.

The practice of capturing a presentation and pushing it will also prove helpful in day-to-day instruction.

Blended Learning for the Flexible Classroom

The video tutorial to the left will assist teachers in common uses of YouTube in the classroom, including the uploading of videos.

It outlines specifically uploading a video to youtube, changing the privacy settings, and creating a Safeyoutube link on safeyoutube.net to then to share on Classroom.

Consider using the tab in the bottom right of the video to watch in fullscreen.
