Director of Debate/Head COach - Dr. Michael Greenstein

Dr. Greenstein has been coaching debate for 19 years. Prior to arriving at Glenbrook North he was the Director of Debate at Georgetown University and New Trier High School. He could not be more proud to be the Director of Debate at Glenbrook North High School, where he debated in high school. Dr. Greenstein has coached 3 national championships, 5 runners-up at nationals, 5 third place finishes at nationals, and 5 top speakers at nationals.  In the last 16 years he has coached 10 state championships, 4 second place state finishes, a third place finish, as well as 13 total state championships over his career. 

Associate Debate Coach - Mr. Stephen Pipkin 

This will be Mr. Pipkin's 13th year coaching at Glenbrook North.  He previously coached at Gulliver Prep in Florida and Northwestern University. He has coached teams to late elimination rounds at every major national tournament including finals of the TOC and two NFL national championships. Stephen's teams have won the Illinois State Championship in each of his first 3 years at Glenbrook North. His debaters have received top 5 speaker awards at St Marks, MBA, NDCA, Emory, Blake, Greenhill, and the TOC, including top speaker at the NSDA National Championship tournament. 

Assistant Debate Coach - Mr. Dustin Meyers-Levy

This will be Mr. Meyers-Levy's 10th year coaching at Glenbrook North. He debated at Edina High School and the University of Michigan and has been coaching policy debate since 2012. He has worked at Glenbrook North since 2017 and has helped the team accumulate an impressive record of success, including Illinois state championships in 2022 and 2025, and national championship semifinalists in 2018 and 2021. At the college level, Dustin coached the University of Michigan through a historic period of success. During his time as a full-time coach, UM teams won every major regular season tournament multiple times, were ranked the #1 team in the country in 2022 and 2023, reached the national championship finals three years in a row from 2021-2023, and won the national championship for the first time in the program's history in 2024. He is renowned across the country in both high school and college policy debate for his research skills. 

Assistant Debate Coach - Mr. Chris Fry

Mr. Fry has been coaching since 2015 and this is his 7th year at GBN. He previously coached at Blue Valley Southwest High School, the University of Georgia and Northwestern. He debated at Blue Valley Southwest and the University of Kansas. Students coached include the 2018 NSDA Champions, 2018 TOC Finalists, 2021 TOC and NDCA Semifinalists, 2022 ISHA Champions, and the 2025 IDCA Champions. 

Assistant Debate Coach - Mr. Jordan Di

Mr. Di has been coaching debate for many years. He is currently an assistant debate coach at Northwestern University and is in his second year coaching at GBN. As a coach in high school, his teams have championed the Trevian Invitational, Pace RR, Greenhill, Barkley Forum, Cal RR, and the Southern Bell Forum and Cal Invitational two years in a row.
