Time to Talk: What Parents Need to Know about Teen Mental Health Disorders and Wellness
Psychiatrist Dr. Mojgan Makki will share her expertise on how to support your teen through the pandemic and challenging times. She will discuss how to create a supportive space, how to talk about mental health as a family, and how to de-escalate uncomfortable conversations and interactions. Dr. Makki will review typical teen behaviors and warning signs and share available tools and resources.
Please be aware that this webinar includes a brief discussion of the topic of suicide within the first 10 minutes.
The Executive Functioning Committee would like to talk about some ways to continue to stay actively engaged and help students improve their attention and focus during e-learning. We will discuss the work environment at home, breaks, attention/engagement, and giving yourself grace. These tips and strategies continue to be a great way to remind yourself of concrete ways to take control of your learning experience.
In addition to the expected stressors of academics, jobs, and the current pandemic, time management may contribute additional stress and conflict to our lives but can also help to reduce stress and conflict. These tips can be applied to both student, professional, and personal needs. The important part is to identify a system that works best for you!
