Each fall when our players come in for tryouts they will have to successfully complete a fitness test. Our test is designed to help coaches gain a baseline for our athlete fitness level, our athletes ability to prepare their body properly for the fall, and evaluate our athletes about to fight through adversity. The goal for our athletes is to put in the time throughout the summer so their bodies are prepared as best as possible to be a successful soccer player on the field in the fall. Athletes and their bodies will be put under a tremendous amount of stress and fatigue through a very compressed season. That is why we want them to put in the time to prepare their bodies to aid in recovery, limit injuries as much as possible, and maximize their potential weekly on the field.
Both field players and goalkeepers will be put through a rigorous test in the first couple of days of tryouts. The test is broken up into stages and athletes have to successfully pass the criteria established by the coaching staff. Athletes who do not pass can still make a team but their fitness level is not where it needs to be at that time. Athletes who do not successfully pass their test will miss out on opportunities in matches as well as playing time until we can get them at a level of fitness that meets what is expected of them.
In the link below field players and goalkeepers each have a tab on the spreadsheet to see what is asked of them as they prepare for this task.
