Summer Learning 2023

Summer Learning comes in many forms!

In Glastonbury, we encourage students to continue learning and growing during the summer months.  This site includes suggestions to help students explore, learn, and practice over the summer.

Access Online Resources

This summer,  students who are advancing into grades three through twelve will have a school iPad at home. We include optional online resources on the grade level pages of this Summer Learning site. School iPads as well as home computers and devices can be used to access and discover an amazingly wide range of engaging and educational activities.

Set Devices Aside

Parents may want their children to step away from their devices and online learning this summer.  We have included a variety of suggested activities on the grade level pages that are decidedly "off-line."

Explore a Passion

What is your child passionate about? Consider using those topics as a starting point. Brainstorm with your child and discuss ways to explore the topics through reading, research, day trips, art, music, movement, and other creative pursuits. Encourage your child to strive to become an "expert" on a particular topic of interest this summer.

Read About EDI Topics

At Glastonbury Public Schools we acknowledge, celebrate and appreciate differences. We are committed to providing equal opportunities for success to every student in our district. Each of the grade level pages on this site include resources to support families with EDI topics. There are age appropriate materials at each grade level.

Supporting the Whole Child

Our schools and teachers focus on the development of the "whole child." We look to provide academically challenging experiences. But we also work to support the physical, social, and emotional development of each individual child. Please do not hesitate to reach out to school administrators if your child or your family is in need of support.
